History

The Innovation, Invention and Venture Creation Council (IIVCC) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura was originated in 2018 in order to promote invention, innovation and other creative works while safeguarding the Intellectual Property Rights towards commercialization. This organization provides opportunities for the undergraduates, graduates and academics of the University not only to showcase their creative ideas and innovations but also to promote the novel technologies to the cooperate world. The multidisciplinary approach of the eight Faculties of the University enables diversification of the novelties produced, and IIVCC is the platform to provide with logistics, advice and/or financial support for innovators to move forward. The IIVCC takes pride in the commitment made to its first voyage “Innovate Sri Lanka” Exhibition held in 2019, providing many opportunities for the innovators for commercializing their products and technologies. Together with the joint partnerships with both industries and Government authorities, the IIVCC continues its journey for the betterment of USJ and the nation.
