The Second Coffee Chat for student led startups at USJ

Coffee Chat is an initiative by the Innovation, Invention, and Venture Creation
Council (IIVCC), University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ) and the International Finance
Corporation (IFC). This initiative was undertaken in collaboration with the Career Guidance
Unit, Startup Hub and Entre Club of USJ. The event was held successfully on 27 th  of February
2023 at Entre Club, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences -USJ (Sumangala Building,
Ground Floor). The Coffee Chat was opened to all students at USJ who are leading a startup or
budding entrepreneurs at USJ.
The invited speaker was Mr. Dulanjana Vithanage, who is the Founder/Managing Director at
Jack Fruit Ceylon (Pvt) Ltd., and he is a young and dynamic entrepreneur who has
secured multiple awards during his undergrad life including the Best Young Entrepreneur
(2018), Best Innovator (2019) at Japura Employability Skills Awards. Mr. Dulanjana shared his
life story and experience on how he succeeded through this journey. During this chat, students
were able to talk with Mr. Dulanjana and get valuable ideas to succeed in their startups. Further,
students had the opportunity to link with each other and raise their problems, challenges and get
ideas for developing startups.  

Prof. K.S. Lasith Gunawardena (Co-Chair, IIVCC-USJ) and Dr. Nilushi Nugara (Co-Chair,
IIVCC-USJ) joined the event. The event concluded successfully with the anticipation of meeting
at next month’s coffee chat.
