Coffee Chat is an initiative by the Innovation, Invention, and Venture Creation Council (IIVCC), University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The event was held successfully on 28 th of April 2023 at Entre Club, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences -USJ (Sumangala Building, Ground Floor). The Coffee Chat was opened to all students at USJ who are leading a startup or budding entrepreneurs at USJ.
The first guest speaker was Mr. Nethila Nimsath. He is a young entrepreneur and the founder of “Marspreneurs Business Academy 4 Kids & Teens” and “Cinnamon Chat with Nethila”. He shared his life story and how he succeeded as a young entrepreneur. The second guest speaker was Mr. Amithe Gamage is a CXO Coach, Personal Branding Strategist and Co-founder of Quantum Leap (Pvt) Ltd. He also shared his well-experienced knowledge of social media and how he succeeded through this journey. During this chat, students were able to talk with guest speakers and get valuable ideas to succeed in their startups. Further, students had the opportunity to link with each other and raise their problems, challenges and get ideas for developing startups.
Prof. K.S. Lasith Gunawardena (Co-Chair, IIVCC-USJ), Dr. Nilushi Nugara (Co-Chair, IIVCC-USJ), Dr. Dulini Mudunkotuwa (General Secretary, IIVCC-USJ) joined the event. The event concluded successfully with the anticipation of meeting at next month’s coffee chat.
