Ms Virgin Fernando of the Department of Business Economics, Mr Madusha de Silva of the Department of Finance, and Mr Umendra Abeynayeke of the Department of Commerce, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce representing Sri Lanka marked their victory at the RB Global Challenge 2018 held in the United Kingdom on 28th and 29th November 2018.
RB Global Challenge is a global competition organized by the Reckitt Benckiser where the young students all around the world have to present their own self-sustaining projects with the purpose of creating a greater social impact while addressing the current social issues in their respective countries.
This year, there were 19 participant countries representing 80% of the total population of the world including the USA, Canada, India, China, Bangladesh, Brazil, South Africa, Singapore, Malaysia, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Nigeria, Lebanon, Egypt and Sri Lanka. This is the first time ever that a Team from Sri Lanka participated in this competition. The winners will take part in the One Young World 2019 which will also be held in London in October 2019 where youth around the world get together with the world leaders.
