Our 1st Anniversary
The first Anniversary Celebrations of Vikings Club
As the first Social entrepreneurship club in Sri Lanka we proudly celebrated our first anniversary on the 23rd of November 2018 with the collaboration of Vikings and lecturers.
At the official anniversary celebrations, lecturers of the university, Mrs. Sandamali Wijerathna, Miss.Thilini Kaushalya and Mrs.Shehani Wickramasinghe delivered speeches appreciating our work that we have done as a club and wished us for the bright sustainable future. Our president of the club Mr. Dulaj Udayanga delivered a speech recalling the obstacles they (our pioneers) went through when bringing the club to the current stage. As a club who always value dedicated leadership and courage, we presented tokens of appreciation for the pioneers of our club (Mr. Dulaj Udayanga- President, Ms. Eshani- Vice President,Mr. Charuka Pramodya and Mr. Chamikara Dimantha ) , appreciating the enormous dedications they have done for the club. There were three amazing performances of Vikings at the celebrations, proving that Vikings are excellent at singing too. At the end of the day, Vikings participated for a Dhamma Deshana which was arranged at the temple in the University premises.
We started with the official formation of Club as an exciting new voice for the Social Enterprenuership. We had challenging and engaging programs of monthly gatherings, fund raising programs, Business model competition, “Walk Of Mercy” series – helping people who are in need, workshops, annual get together, and visiting workshops organized by the Innovation and Venture creation.
We look forward to a very busy and effective agenda in the coming year and we will continue in promoting entrepreneurship while changing the mindset of the graduates to think as socially responsible people in the society.
